With the arrival of Term 4, the temperatures are rising, and so is our excitement for all things tennis! In this edition of the Tennis World Sydney newsletter, we announce UTR Challenge dates, unveil the latest updates on gym access, Member UTR changes, registration for our junior leagues and much more!
UTR CHALLENGE EVENTS
UTR Tournament play is back for Term 4, and we have an exciting new format in store for you! We’ve listened to the valuable feedback from parents and players, and we understand that variety in gameplay and facing different competitors are top priorities. That’s why we’ve introduced the new UTR Challenge format, which incorporates all of these elements. Here’s how it works: Players will be grouped into level-based pools, with one pool per court in each timeslot. Each pool will consist of four players, and players will remain on the same court for the entire timeslot. The format will be a single set, first to six games, with a tiebreak at 5-all with short deuce. Throughout the session, players will have the opportunity to play three sets (with three different opponents) within a four-hour window. The results from these matches will contribute towards their UTR rating. This revamped format allows for more tennis action, a wider range of opponents, and, of course, a chance to compete and showcase your skills. INCREASED MEMBER UTR EVENTS
With the start of term 4, we’re ramping up the excitement at Tennis World by offering an increased number of UTR match play sessions each week. Monday: – 7.00pm to 8.30pm: UTR 0 to 4.5 – 8.30pm to 10.00pm: UTR 4.5+ Tuesday: – 7.00pm to 8.30pm: UTR 4.5+ – 8.30pm to 10.00pm: UTR 0 to 4.5 Thursday: – 7.00pm to 8.30pm: UTR 0 to 4.5 – 8.30pm to 10.00pm: UTR 4.5+ Friday: – 5:00pm to 6:30pm: Junior UTR 2+ – 6:30pm to 8:00pm: Junior UTR 2+ – 8.30pm to 10.00pm: UTR 5.5+ (Advanced Match Play) To participate in our Members-only UTR match play, all you need is a Silver Tennis World membership or a higher for adults, or a Junior membership for our aspiring young players. Starting from Saturday 7th of October, all registrations will now be made on the Tennis World Client Portal, please refer to the document for instructions on how to set up your Match Centre Account.
JUNIOR LEAGUE REGISTRATION
Please complete the form below to be included in the next junior Match Play League which will be a 5-week commitment. Tennis World Junior Members (who pay per fortnight for their Membership additional to their coaching fees) will receive this entry for free. Juniors who are not Tennis World Junior Members will be invoiced $110 for their registration. You can become a Junior Member for only $12 a week prior to the first match if you wish to join
COACHING SPOTLIGHT – CHLOE
Chloe’s love for tennis was evident from her early days, as she represented her state and country in multiple international junior events. Her passion for the sport took her to the University of Colorado Boulder and then to Texas Christian University, where she became a standout academic athlete. Armed with her degree in Communications & Psychology, Chloe was ready to transition from a player to a coach, bringing her wealth of experience to Tennis World Sydney & Tennis NSW.
